Our game this week was played on the Astro pitch in Ballyare. The sun was shining on a perfect morning for a game and both teams started at a high tempo. Ballyraine was the 1st to open the scoring and got their 2nd soon after. Bonagee kept their cool and kept pushing forward until Ben Gallagher lobed the ball in over Ballyraine's keeper from the edge of the 18yrd box,Darragh Scott was next on the score sheet nipping in to beat Ballyraine's keeper to level the game. Ballyraine got the next but not for long, Luke Cassidy levelled it again with a super shot., 3 - 3 at half time.

Again early in the 2nd half Ballyraine took the lead again but Caolan Maltha got Bonagee's 4th. Ballyraine were unlucky and made Ewan Kavanagh work hard in nets, but with about 5min to go Darragh Scott got on the end a great ball by Jake Patton into the box and put the ball past the keeper for his 2nd, final score Ballyraine Celtic 4 - 5 Bonagee Arcade. Great game by both teams.

Bonagee 2nd game in their League was at home against Cappry Crussaders. The game started off at a fairly even pace with both teams working well up and down the field. The first opportunity came to Bonagee, with a good ball into Capprys box ,Lee Elliott was unlucky not to have got on the end of it to open the scoring. Cappry work the ball well up the line and a good ball put their forward through to open the scoring. Cappry kept the pressure on for the rest of the 1st half but were unable to break through Bonagee's defence, 1 - 0 at half time.

Cappry started the stronger team in the 2nd half and were unlucky with a shot coming off the cross bar, but it didn't take long for them to get their 2nd, and a 3rd shortly after. Bonagee fought hard and were awarded a penalty mid way into the 2nd half, Ben Gallagher stepped up and with a good strike he put the ball in the top corner. But this was as much as they could muster and with Cappry getting their 4th near the end. The game finished with Cappry taking all 3 well earned points. 4 - 1 the final score.

The first game of our season kicked off this morning away to Letterkenny Crusaders at Leckview Park. Everyone was patiently awaiting the start of the season and were eager to get started.

After the 1st whistle blew it took about 2min until Jamie Cunningham broke up the left wing into Letterkennys 18yrd box and was brought down, Ben Gallagher step up and opened the scoring with a good spot kick. Letterkenny Crusaders didn't let this upset them and with the wind behind them, within 15min they opened their scoring with a great move into Bonagee's half, and added their 2nd moments later.

Bonagee made 3 subs at Half time and with the wind now in their favour they kept the pressure on and eventually with a great pass from Philip Dodoo, Jamie Cunningham put the ball in the net 2-2. But again Letterkenny fought back and managed another good goal against the run of play. Again Bonagee battled hard, and after a few near misses they finally got a good ball into the box where Caolan Maltha got another to level the game again. With still 15min to go, Bonagee kept the pressure on until the last minute when finally Ben Gallaghers shot went in off the upright. Final score 4 - 3 to Bonagee, well done to all the Lads on a great game of football.
